We're using the term Orthodox Patriarch for ease of our readers, though technically you are correct. Still, this stuff can be heard to keep straight, and we're trying to help readers get through it.
I wasn't complaining about referring to the bishop of Constantinople as the "Orthodox Patriarch." You referred to the bishop of Moscow as the "Ecumenical Patriarch of Moscow" which is not correct in any way, and I don't think helps anyone either! Ctrl+F "ecumenical patriarch" in your article; I'm sure it was just a typo! You were using the word "ecumenical" a lot in that section.
Perhaps they should also permit the Russian Greek Catholic Church to elect a Bishop. We haven't had one of those since 1951. It is a bit odd have a sui juris church without a hierarchy, particularly for so long, and without a particularly good reason.
Excellent work. I will be sharing this with the religious education group in my own Ukrainian Catholic parish in Pennsylvania. I love that you include Eastern Catholic issues in your coverage. Pray for Ukraine.
I wasn't aware of any of this. Thank you.
The *Ecumenical* Patriarch of... Moscow? Might want to correct that guys!

hard to keep straight. that's what I get for responding to comments while chasing kids!
That you are able to run the best English-language Catholic news source on the internet while chasing kids is all the more to your credit!
Very good article, & timely. You guys are good!
