If I remember correctly, one genus, the wandering albatross, has the largest wingspan of any flying bird, reaching up to 11 feet--twice the height of many adults! They regularly circumnavigate the globe around the Southern Ocean, and it's possible that they are able to sleep as they soar, allowing for this unthinkably long flights.
