Genuinely in my heart, I’m not sure one can surround himself with a bishop and not anticipate there is something profoundly complicated from their past. We have a big truth problem. Not the teachings of the faith, but that we only want the light of truth to shine on some elements of our priests and bishops. Perhaps we need to accept that our clergy are all just a bunch of men trying to be holy, and that the laity needs to make a much stronger effort to support them. Prevent loneliness, alcoholism, etc.
Healing alcoholism and addiction requires willingness first on the part of the addict. In the morass of clericalism, narcissism, and grandiosity, willingness can be obscured.
Why does this not surprise me? 😡
The people this Pope surrounds himself with…
St Ignatius of Loyola, pray for us, pray for the Church!

I could not agree more: “ just a bunch of men trying to be holy” and I count myself among them.
However, there seems to be a pattern to whom Pope Francis chooses to surround himself. Perhaps because of their vulnerability?

Weren't their issues you reported about +Prevost back when he was merely a rumor to be put in charge of bishops?
