Fr Connell in his op-ed advocates for an end to the seal of confession and seems to think it would be an inconvenience to a small number of people. One can only conclude that he sees little or no value in the Sacrament of Reconciliation, our primary means of recourse to God’s mercy. He seems to have a sincere concern for children, but he also seems to have lost his way as a priest.
