Deeply inspiring and encouraging interview. There's still so much hope for the church and the world and it's consoling to see reminders of that. Also I liked that last line especially 😏
I canhel0 but think that his statements about the lack of financial mean and institutions in the church in France is a veiled dig at les évêques d'Allemagne. Il est un évêque français, d'après tout.
This is an excellent interview. Although there is one glaring issue. The Church has accepted the report that there are more children who fell victim to clergy abuse in France than all of the residents in the city of Cincinnati. 330,000 children. A rather substantial amount of the distrust in French culture is something we cultivated for ourselves. It will take some time to overcome the challenges we have made for ourselves.

Wonderful. Thank you, Edgar. From this brief exposure to him, I like this man very much.
I'm curious. In what language or languages was this interview conducted?
Bishop Rougé speaks excellent English, so it was in English!
