Are the disaffected priests and flock giving their bishops the time of day and not just blowing them off and complaining they’re not being listened to? How the heck is anyone supposed to ‘come to Jesus’ on this when it doesn’t seem that the opposing sides can even be in the same room?
The ideal outcome is people do what they’re told, even through gritted teeth and offer it up, but that takes at least one ounce of trust. I get the sense that that ounce is lacking.
