Well said. I also think because of that political allegiance they should provide a working definition of 'racism' and 'xenophobia.' Those labels are thrown at well-intended people for saying things like, "We should secure the border."
I tend to agree with wishing these terms would be defined more clearly. Personally, I think the term ‘out-group hate’ (can be based on class, ideology, race, language, education, culture, identity, etc) would probably be easier for most people to recognize and doesn’t turn into something that only certain groups of people are capable of.
