Pray for the victims and pray for the perpetrators.

So sickening. Certainly praying. The photos of the children and the people in mass graves in their colorful clothing break my heart. Elsewhere I have seen Fulani people on the internet proudly in favor of the Fulani herdsmen. Other Africans online say the Fulani were one of the groups that kidnapped Africans of other tribes for sale to slavers centuries back. Everyone deserves peace and security.

My thoughts exactly. My first thought went to the colorful clothing on the bodies of the dead. Heart breaking.

I understand that Ukraine is suffering, but Nigeria has been suffering for a long time. It does not seem to get the international attention that other countries do. Why is that! I pray that the peace of Christ be with the people of Nigeria.

We have to call out the elephant in the room. Islam was spread by forced conversions. The Quran specifically states "Fight the unbelievers until they submit our pay the Jizya" in that vein. Why is there no Christian Fulani herdsmen? If there isn't.... the common denominator is Islam. In the past, Nigeria had a Muslim-Christian party leaders in parliament, but now is run by Muslim-Muslim party ticket meaning the Government has been ignoring more of these atrocities. Thank you for this reporting, which is superior to that of the wire services. Where is the international outcry against these attacks?

This is what Islam is all about. Non-Muslims are seen as worthless and beneath contempt. It seems that violence is at the heart of the "Religion of Peace", and unfortunately we have allowed ourselves to deny this fact. There was a little bit of this in Minneapolis this past week with the Somalis using violence to get their way in council candidate nominations that went from orderly to chaos and violence. While I appreciate the "trigger warning" at the beginning of this article, if we don't wake up to the reality of the situation of the battle between Islam and the rest of the world, this could start to happen here as well. No wonder the Church is so strong in Africa, they have to literally die for their faith. I bet they don't transfer Ascension to Sundays because it is too inconvenient to go to a Mass on Thursday, they put their lives on the line every day because of their love for Christ.
