I don’t think a heart is the right response to this story, but thank you for bringing this story to our privileged butts in the English-speaking world comfortably seated on our couches complaining about crappy music at Mass.
I just want to say that I am so happy and proud that a fellow Venezuelan contributes to The Pillar, hands down the best Catholic news organization in the US.
It is more than kind words. Every piece you have written fir The Pillar has been a demonstration of good journalsm, just an objective report of what is happening in tha Church in Latin America. And that it cones from a “maracucho” makes this “caraqueña” very happy.
Thus has it ever been: ALL modern forms of collectivism (whether socialism, communism, or the racist collectivism of Nazism, Fascism and now the Progressives and the CRT movement in the US) attack the Catholic Church: Revolutionary France, Mexico, the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, the Second Republic in Spain, Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, Communist China, Vietnam, Venezuela, and more. If it were up to the current regime in the US, it would also be happening more overtly here. Tyrants demand submission and compliance. Our God forbids idolatry. Thus all faithful Christians, especially Catholics, will be--at best--angrily and warily tolerated by these odious, materialistic, and evil regimes. Pray for Bishop Álvarez and his courageous flock! But know also, the aspiring totalitarians are coming for you too. Pray too that all of us may have the courage to cling to the Cross in the face of persecution.
Thank you to the Pillar and Mr. Edgar Beltrán for bringing us this story. I'll be praying for them all tonight, including the oppressors. Lord, have mercy.
This is what the future portends, given the climate in our country despite what may be said by the radical anti Catholic community and the news media. People of all persuasions should reflect on this potential as our children will bare the brunt of this type of sinful behavior by a government .

Thanks for the kind words, Brigida.
