This weekend the worshipers in my diocese received a one-page (front & back) bulletin insert from the USCCB that to me seemed somewhere between useless and inept.
Thankfully my Sunday morning adult catechesis group is studying Lumen Gentium - Chapter 4 on the Laity. Paragraphs 31-37 therein seem to be more instructive or to provide more tangible guidance than the USCCB bulletin insert.
If you have trouble understanding Vatican II-ese, I recommend this 3-volume reference:
Bill Huebsch with Paul Thurmes, VATICAN II IN PLAIN ENGLISH, Volume 2 - The Constitutions, Thomas More Publishing, a division of Resources for Christian Living (RCL), Allen TX. (C) 1997. ISBN 0-88347-350-X.
