Whoops—it appears the link underline didn't render properly on my phone, hence why I missed it. Here it is for anyone in similar straits: https://alberguesanjuandedios.com/
Thank you JD for reporting on this! I wonder, if people come from Colombia or Venezuela, how do they "continue north" to the US? Not to make light of their situation, but seems they took a wrong turn.
yeah, thank you, that was poor phrasing. I'll adjust. in short, I was told at the center that people often come from those countries to ecuador as a point of first departure, before eventually, sometimes after a few months, departing toward the united states.
still, in my basically non-existent knowledge of "how" they get here, it seems strange they would go from a country closer to the US to a country farther away. But God willing, they will find what they need in Ecuador.
Well, I guess you have to find a trafficker to take you across the Darien Gap. So my sense is that this is a place where you can connect with such a person. (?) Maybe in Bogota or Caracas that’s more difficult.
This is a beautiful project. Is there a good way for Pillar readers to donate?
There is a link to the center in the story.
Which should have what you need.

The site translates and formats poorly on my phone. Were you able to find a donation link within the site?
Unrelated to the article, Louisiana Nick (Jageneaux?), I hope you and your people are okay in the storm.
This is beautiful. Thank you to Joseph for requesting the fundraising link.

Beautiful. Thank you for this article, Pillar.
