I appreciate his theological note, because unless that shapes our action and teaching, all this "abandonment" talk is just fatalistic nonsense. Only when we entrust ourselves to God *in the act* of becoming what He is making us and making the world fit to receive Him are we doing Christian faith, not pagan resignation to "whatever."
