I was absolutely shocked this morning to see the FSSP’s statement in response. Not sure if you have update the article to reflect the statement, but jeez...
First they imply Jackson might not actually be guilty. That he just just plead guilty to get a reduced sentence.
Then they blame the porn industry. Way to make me defend the porn indus…

Then they blame the porn industry. Way to make me defend the porn industry (thanks FSSP!) but what Jackson is guilty of wasn’t porn or a product of that vile business.
It was child abuse and rape. Produced by the most evil monsters amongst us.
The FSSP is not responsible for Jackson’s crimes. Thousands and thousands of people were deceived by him (including me!). But the FSSP’s statement 1) refuses to accept his culpability and questions his guilt and 2) minimizes his crimes- which are beyond horrific.
It’s time to move on. The FSSP and the trad movement as a whole needs to heal. This mentality is a cancer to the whole Church. It’s not just trads that do this... the fact that the Legionaries still exist and that Rupnik is still a Jesuit shows that this is a problem in every ideological corner of the Church. But it’s a cancer. And it needs to be eradicated.

Rant over.
