My comments:

1. I wish you and your family well and a speedy recovery from COVID disease.

2. I marvel that we have a Pope who strongly discourages if not outlaws the Latin Mass, yet every decree to promulgate is given a Latin title that effectively none of the faithful masses can understand or even interpret. I get that it's technically two different issues, but not necessarily to us lay mortals.

3. I'm sick and tired of hearing about "unity." We have a Pope who preaches unity but what he really means is everyone needs to fall in line with his worldview. Critics and detractors with legitimate countering viewpoints get not only fired, but all their furniture thrown on the front lawn.

4. We have a Pope who embraces "unity" while also embracing world leaders such as President Biden, who manifests the beast with his promotion and advocacy for the killing of more than 600,000 unborn humans annually in the US alone. Weak Cardinals and Bishops such as Wilton Gregory follow suit. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/01/11/what-the-data-says-about-abortion-in-the-u-s-2/

5. While Pope Francis ducks confronting right vs. wrong in respect for human life, such as abortion, Ukraine and Israel/Palestine; he instead drives down the easier road of climate change and Laudato Si https://www.vatican.va/content/francesco/en/encyclicals/documents/papa-francesco_20150524_enciclica-laudato-si.html. I'm all in favor of that, after Catholic Church leadership restores giving tackling abortion #1 priority.

Thank you, John Seng

2. The Latin title comes from the first two words of the Latin version of the document. Which is now typically a translation from the original Spanish or Italian. But everyone references the Latin version because (I think) it's the legally binding version in the Latin Church. It is 2 different issues because the Latin Mass isn't about the language (could solve that by just giving permission to celebrate the Tridentine Rite in the vernacular) but about a Rite developed organically by Saints out of Apostolic Tradition. I suspect his motivation is actually about adhering to Vatican 2 and its aftermath. I'm not convinced there are many people born after 1980 who care about that.

3. 4. Unity is not found in liturgy or language or worldview or policy, but in One Lord and Baptism and Faith. That's a worldview I can fall in line with. The other kind of unity is more properly called "uniformity". It is a superficial union, rather like how nostalgia is a superficial attraction, and getting along by not saying anything discomfiting is a superficial relationship.

5. I'd like the contraception and pornography rates within the Church to go down to maybe 20% before we start worrying about climate change.
