DANA is a natural phenomenon, but it is intensified by climate change. As the waters in the oceans and seas heat up with global warming, we will see more of these extreme weather events. Fr. Oscar is right. God is not behind this disaster, humanity is, with our dependence on fossil fuels. May God continue to inspire people to respond to the needs of those affected, but may he also soften our hearts to speak out against the cause.

The govt, both local and national are as much to blame having done nothing to clear waterways and protect the potential flood zones over the last few decades, not to mention taking down damns and causeways to be "more natural." This area of Spain has records of these floods going back to Roman times (at least one remaining Roman built damn helped avoid floods during the disaster).

The public support has been wonderful to watch and glad to get these stories of how those in the Church are part of it and making Christ visibly present.
